Juan Enriquez ist Vorsitzender und CEO von Biotechonomy, einem Forschungsunternehmen, das Startups im Bereich der Genomforschung finanziert. Vor der Gründung von Biotechonomy war Enriquez Gründungsdirektor des Life Science Projekts der Harvard Business School.
Enriquez ist einer der herausragenden Autoritäten auf dem Gebiet der ökonomischen und politischen Auswirkungen der Lebenswissenschaften, deren Forschungen immer schneller voranschreiten. Er ist Autor des Weltbestsellers As the Future Catches You: How Genomics & Other Forces are Changing Your Life, Work, Health & Wealth. Enriquez ist außerdem Teil eines weltweiten, von Craig Venter initiierten Forschungsprojekts, dessen Ziel es ist, eine Kartographie der mikrobiologischen Genome der Weltmeere zu erstellen. Er gehört einer Reihe von Gremien an und bekleidete bisher mehrere Positionen in der Regierung Mexikos.

Mr. Enriquez is currently finishing two new books. A Little Book About the Big Picture explains how the genomic revolution is changing our daily lives. Flags, Borders, Anthems, and Other Myths explores why some countries succeed economically while others fail.
He has published several landmark papers. His article, “Transforming Life, Transforming Business: The Life Science Revolution” (Ray Goldberg, coauthor), won a second place McKinsey Prize in 2000. He has coauthored a number of Harvard Business School (HBS) papers and the first map of global nucleotide data flow. HBS chose Mr. Enriquez as one of its best and most charismatic teachers and showcased his work in its first set of faculty products. He is widely published in the mainstream press and academic journals.
